R&E Cycles Model 20/14 Rohloff Custom Speedhub

This custom tandem was built by Seattle’s Rodriguez Cycles for us in 2017. The captain is 5’9” and the stoker is 5’3” so we are not the tallest tandem team. The is a very special bike - it is an all steel frame and the reason it is called a 20/14 is that it has 20” wheels and has 14 S&S couplers that allow you break down the bike for traveling in two medium sized suitcases. We have had a lot fun riding this tandem all over the world but now have decided that our tandem days are behind us as we enter our 80’s. We would like to sell the bike for someone else to enjoy riding it. It has a 14 speed Rohloff Custom Speed hub so no external gearing; it has rim brakes and an extra drum brake on the front wheel just in case you get going down hill to fast and don’t want to over heat the tire rims with too much braking. As you can see in the picture it does have plenty of braze-ons for water bottles and racks both front and back. It does come with some water bottle racks and a back rack. It has a suspension seat post for the stoker. Obviously this is not a new bike so it does have some wear on it but it is in good shape overall. Compare to a new one that sells for $17,000.
